Special education in Maine can be a complex and sometimes overwhelming system to navigate. Many resource families feel unsure about the rules, regulations, and terminology. This training will explain the basics of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, outline the special education process, and provide practical tools to help families advocate for a child’s educational needs. Participants will leave better prepared to be active and confident partners in their child’s education.
