NextGen 529 is Maine’s education savings plan, which many families use to prepare for higher education. Opening a NextGen 529 account for your child (or yourself) is a real investment in the future. The Alfond Grant is for all babies born as Maine residents since 2013. These children are automatically awarded a grant of $500 towards their future college or training expenses from the Alfond Scholarship Foundation (ASF).
